The Objective of the SECME Water Rocket competition is to build a rocket that
will be launched and have the longest hang time possible. A 2-liter soda
bottle is used for the pressure chamber and other materials are used to create
fins and a nosecone.
There are 4 parts to the Water Rocket Competition. Each team must
complete ALL parts of the competition to compete.
- Rocket Performance - Teams launch their rocket and try to get the
most hang time.
- Patch Design - Teams create an original mission patch.
- Technical Report - Teams create a report documenting their design.
- Technical Drawing - A dimensioned drawing of the team's rocket.
